Since the pandemic hit, our staff have been working hard to keep Unify Credit Union services running and to support our members during this challenging time to keep control of their money matters with affordable loans and easy ways to save. Gashaw Awla: 

How has Unify adapted to support members during this time?

We adapted pretty quickly to be able to offer our Members online access for everything - and the phone line has remained open to help members

 

Have you learned anything about members, the Unify team, or yourself during this challenging time?

All members and Unify team have found the changes to online access very easy, which is something we will certainly continue to develop after the pandemic

 

What advice would you give to members to manage their money in 2021?

Stop online spending!

 

 

Angela Dean: 

How has your role been affected by the pandemic? 

We are proud to now offer Members more online access to loan applications

 

How has Unify adapted to support members during this time?   

Unify has offered members online access to all services, as well as telephone access for any additional support they may need

 

Have you learned anything about members, the Unify team, or yourself during this challenging time?    

Everyone, staff and members alike, have all adapted with ease to the new working style. Working with other members of staff, who we wouldn’t normally see from one meeting to the next, has been enjoyable too.

 

What advice would you give to members to manage their money in 2021?     

Online gambling needs to be addressed, even if it simply means pointing out how much they have spent in one month.  Also the ‘buy now, pay over 3/6/12 months’ such as Klarna, Clearpay & Laybuy needs to be pointed out to members as I don’t think they are always aware of quite how much the small monthly payment amount comes to in just one month.
