🎄 Everything You Need to Know About This Year’s Christmas Loan Cut-Offs and Rules

We know, we know — it might just be autumn, but Christmas still feels miles away! But a little early planning can make a big difference when December rolls around.

Many of our members rely on a Christmas loan to help with the extra seasonal costs — gifts, food, travel, and all the festive fun that adds up. So, if you’re thinking about taking out a loan this autumn, it’s worth knowing how it might affect your eligibility for a Christmas top-up later in the year.

Here’s your quick and cheerful guide to Unify’s Christmas Loan policy for 2025 — with all the important dates you’ll want to pop in your calendar.

 

🎁 The Big Date: Your 2025 Christmas Loan Cut-Off

This year, we’ve made things simple with one key cut-off date for everyone Existing and New Members:

🗓️ 1st December 2025

If you get your loan application in on or before 1st December, we’ll guarantee a decision before Christmas Day.

Applications that come in after this date are not guaranteed so don’t leave it to the last minute!

 

🌟 Existing Members Applying for a Top-Up Loan Around Christmas

If your top-up eligibility date happens to fall in December (or just after), don’t worry we’ve built in a little festive flexibility!

Here’s how it works this year:

• 🎄 If you’re due a top-up between 1st–31st December 2025
  → You can apply one month early this year just like last year.
  For example, if your next eligibility date is 20th December, you can apply from 20th November.

 

• 🎁 If your next top-up date is after 31st December 2025, and you haven’t taken a loan in October or November 2025,
  → You can apply for a Christmas top-up worth up to the amount you’ve repaid since your last loan

🔔 A Few Helpful Reminders

Before you start planning your application, here are a few things to keep in mind:

• We can’t accept extra repayments to bring your eligibility date forward.
• Your application will only be considered once we have all the required information
• Loan Purpose must be stated as Christmas
